In the world of baseball, it's not just about the pitches and hits – it's all about the vibe, the thrill, and that undeniable energy. And you know what cranks up the excitement a notch? The walk-up song! Yep, that's the jam that not only gets the batter psyched but also sends vibes through the stadium. So, in this blog post, we're gonna dive into the hottest baseball walk-up songs right now that'll get the players and fans going.
What Makes a Great Walk-Up Song? And how to finally decide on one.
Before diving into the list of the top baseball walk-up songs, let's first understand what makes a walk-up song great. I don't know about you, but my kids take their walk-up song selection possibly too seriously. It has to be absolutely perfect. And yes, I'm guilty of going through way too many songs with them that I threaten to just choose one myself. So hopefully, this list helps you shortcut that process just a little bit!
Pro tip for choosing a walkup song: when listening or sharing these songs or any walkup songs with your kids, sometimes it helps (especially if you're trying to sell them on one because yes, parents usually know best!) to only have them listen to the exact place in the song you think they should use. And maybe throw in a..."NOW BATTING, NUMBER 0, JOEY JOE" to give them the whole vibe of the walkup song.
These songs aren't all from 2023, but they are absolute hits that aren't overdone and aren't on every other list you'll find online. Plus, we all know the start times are what really matters, so I'm including my recommended start time too. Even better, I'm offering some context for why I love the song and when/why it might be a good fit since we all know not every walk-up song is perfect for everyone.
The Best Baseball Walkup Songs:
"Face Off [clean]" at 2:57
- Love this for those players that put in the work.
"Bops Going Brazy" at 0:06
- This is a modern take on an oldie and it hits!
"Ransom [clean]" by Lil Tecca at 0:10
- This is a new addition considering both of my sons HAD to have this for their fall season. It's a hot song and the kids love it.
"They Not Like Us" by Kendrick Lamar at 1:14
- This is about the only part of the song that you can use and it's the section of the song that is on repeat.
"Casper Cha-Cha Slide" by DJ Casper at 2:16
- When my oldest son started using this, we'd never heard It as a walkup song yet. I know I'm going to regret posting this as the top song because it could lost its uniqueness, but if you want everyone to clap for you every time you're up to bat...this is the song for you.
"I look good [clean]" by Chalie Boy at 0:54
- This one's for the player who has lots of swagger and isn't afraid to have a little fun with it.
"Greenlight" by Pitbull at 0:30-0:35 start time depending on the version
- Love this for it's perfect walk-up lyrics. This is all about being up in the spotlight and being ready for it.
"Superhero (Heroes & Villains)" at 0:08
- Not going to lie, this isn't MY favorite but the kids love it especially at the younger ages who don't even know what dope means--to them it's all about turning into a superhero. Let them have some fun while they're young.
"Can't Stop Us Now" by Pitbull & Zac Brown at 0:21 or 0:24 depending on version (and NO sooner!)
- OK yes, I'm starting right after the swear words! Get past that so there are no slip-ups and from :21-:31 it's all hype time.
"Godzilla" by Eminem [feat. Juice WRLD] at 0:37
- Perfect for the kid with the monster bat, or the one who needs reminding that they can be a monster at the plate. Also a fun option around Halloween!
"Swag Surfin" by F.L.Y. (Fast Life Yungstaz) at 0:05
- When my son was on his first travel team, he was so thrilled to have the awesome jerseys and all the matching stuff. This is a fun one that you don't hear very often (maybe never), but the player has to have some swagger!
"My House" by Flo Rida at 0:36 or 0:40 depending on version
- I think you can basically listen to any Flo Rida or Pitbull song and find a walkup song section, but no list is complete without this one. It's so confident and fun. Start at "Welcome to my house...."
"Country Boy Do" by Nelly at 0:32
- I had to include at least one song for the country boys! Yes it Nelly and not a country singer, but it gets the job done is a fun one.
"Magic Stick" by Lil Kim at 0:03
- No baseball walkup song list is complete without this one. Check the start time and tell me I'm wrong!
"Wing$" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis at 1:32
- This is definitely a fringe walk-up song... it's for the player who is cool with having something a little different as long as the lyrics speak to them. This is about shooting for the stars.
"Lose Yourself" by Eminem at 1:38
- No list is complete without this classic hip-hop anthem. With its iconic intro and motivational lyrics, it's a surefire hit.
"Glorious (feat. Skylar Grey)" by Macklemore at 0:05
- This is the absolute perfect "comeback" song if your player went on a hiatus of any type... injury, left for another team but came back, you name it.
"U Can't Touch This" by M.C. Hammer at 0:00
- This one is for the kids who don't need the latest bop, they're up for a fun, oldie but goodie with a good dose of swagger.
"GDFR" by Flo Rida at 0:08
- A perfect jam for the player that takes themself serious enough and wants to remind everyone that when they walk up to the plate--yes, it truly is going down for real.
"I'm the One" by DJ Khaled [feat. Justin Beiber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper] at 0:36
- If your jersey number is 1, this is the song for you.
Did we miss many any you think should be on this list?
